Seminar on Traditional drugs goldmine for modern pharmaceuticals.

REPORT ON THE SEMINAR ENTITLED TRADITIONAL MEDICINE:GOLD MINE FOR MODERN PHARMACEUTICALS ORGANIZED BY OCP ON 2ND MARCH 2019

Oriental College of Pharmacy [OCP] organized a Seminar on ‘Traditional Drugs: Gold mine for modern Pharmaceuticals, 2nd March 2019. The seminar was attended by students’ community B. Pharm., M. Pharm. and Ph. D., academia and Industry delegates. The scientific sessions of the seminar were conducted by eminent speakers Dr. Sanjay Wagh, Director, Rumit Chemisynth Pvt.Ltd Mumbai, Dr. K. S. Laddha, Prof. Institute of Chemical technology, Mumbai, Dr. (Mrs.) Meena A. Kanyalkar, Asso. Prof.,K.M.Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Mumbai and Dr.(Mrs) Tabassum Khan, Prof. Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy, Mumbai.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Sudha Rathod welcomed the guests and addressed them with the objective and theme of organizing the seminar to the audience. She also expressed her wish to organize many such events in the future to uplift the overall development of pharmacy fraternity including the students. She thanked the speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience and also thanked the Seminar Convener Dr. Mohib Khan, Profeesor & Head, Pharmacognosy and Coordinators of the program Dr. Vandana Jain and Dr. Amjad Ali for taking an initiative for such noble and holistic approach. Many delegates expressed their happiness and said that the scientific session were excellent and programme was well organized. The audience got an insight about the valuable traditional medicine that have proven as a gold mine for the modern pharmaceuticals and will continue to do so in future.
The poster presentation session and oral presentation competition was also being held. Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai bagged 2 prizes, Oriental College of Pharmacy got 2 prizes and Bharti Vidyapeeth College of Pharmcy and AIKTC won one prize each.

The Principal, seminar convener and the organizing committee thanked Prof. Javed Khan, President of Oriental Education Society and Mr. Waseem Khan, Managing Director for their strong support to organize such mega event.
